A group of 25 Spanish food companies from seven communities have formed the Green to Healthy Consortium, which includes 30 projects with a total budget of 111m, aspiring to receive 64m in agrifood-related aid. part.
In a statement, its promoters, led by the group Teresa Carles Flax & Kale, explain that they are asking for 58% of the total budget in loans and grants.
The project members are coordinated by the consulting firm Incotec, who come from Aragon, Castilla-La Mancha, Catalonia, the Community of Valencia, the Basque Country, Galicia and Murcia.
The main projects that make up this business alliance are divided into three value chains: one is related to sustainable proteins, in which Teresa Carles Flax & Kale (through its plant-based foods division), Incarlopsa, SAAR, Ceamsa, Carnia, Nurel, Eversia, Rotogal and Roen Plàstic participate , Biblox, Red de Calor de Tarancón, Cultzyme, Secaderos de Almaguer, Healthy Food Solutions, and MadeinPlant.
The second relates to healthy drinks and consists of GasN2, Grupo TCFK - Teresa Carles Flax & Kale (Kombucha division) and Delifactory, and the third consists of sweets and desserts, and in it Formatgeria Granja Rinya, Postres Lácteos Romar, Infrusesa, Agrinarsa and Fini I + D.
The consortium also includes technology companies Lis Data Solutions, Multiverse Computing and Signe, digitization specialists.
About 1,500 jobs
The aim of this business alliance is to create an integrated value chain through innovative, digital and sustainable processes, which allows the Spanish food industry to gain competitiveness and become a European benchmark in healthy eating.
Of the total 111 million investments, 84% of the budget will go to projects related to sustainability, while the remainder will go to those dedicated to digitization.
The consortium estimates that this set of projects will have an initial economic impact three times higher than the investment value and that it will generate 1,500 jobs.
More than 54% of the participating companies are SMEs, while it is led by the Teresa Carles Flax & Kale group, which has an R&D center and production plants in Bell-lloc d’Urgell (Lleida) and in Fraga (Huesca).
